Kotex menstrual pad ad, U.S.A., 1922, (month unknown)
The Ladies Home Journal

Read the discussion.

The illustration exemplifies the great age of American illustration. Think of N.C. Wyeth's book illustrations, J. C. Leyendecker's Arrow shirt ads, James M. Flagg's "I want you for the U.S. Army" poster, and, of course, the long-lasting Norman Rockwell's many covers for the Saturday Evening Post.
Modess pads had a better tradition of beautiful, although often spare ads like this one from the 1930s and these last-gasp ads as the company gradually disappeared.
