"TAMPAX The Champ in every way"
Promotional package for Tampax menstrual tampons
(aimed at dealers?), 1963, U.S.A.
As with the 1964, folder, I believe Tampax made this folder to promote
the tampon to dealers. Certainly other companies did the same thing (see
links under the text).
In a bout - get it? - of overinterpretation, isn't the boxer
striking a pose that looks just like a tampon? Her legs the strings? No?
Well, then look at a better example: a human pantiliner!
This group of ads shares the expensive, white (in people and clothing),
and beautiful characteristics of next year's (1964) folder. It reminds me
of the decades-long Modess campaign of few words
and of women in evening dress.
