Preparing for Womanhood, menstruation & puberty booklet by Kotex, 1920s, sample pages After the basic discussion, Kotex starts its pitch for its pads. It speaks of Cellucotton, made from wood, as being new. Kotex came out in 1920 (see its first ad), so I would say this is a booklet from the 1920s. Cotton was the component of most of menstrual protection before 1920. Even today, manufacturers promote their pads' pulling moisture away from the surface. Let the buyer beware!
