Preparing for Womanhood, menstruation & puberty booklet
by Kotex, 1920s, sample pages

"Nervous strain" and menstruation are touchy subjects, even today. Some female visitors to MUM say that this is a figment of the male mind - women don't get it - while others suffer terribly.
The issue is also part of the medicalization of menstruation, probably begun in the last century, and is difficult to settle.
