I thank the genealogist and retired teacher who generously sent these scans!

Below: from Syracuse Herald, Sept. 25, 1911. The hard-to-read words under the top line are "We will pay $100.00 for a Catchy Phrase to better advertise and familiarize [?] The Wonder Remedy of the Day . . . The Altogether Different Remedy Which Gives Instantaneous Relief to Sufferers of . . . ." I wonder what slogan won.
By the way, a later Midol DOES contain phenacetin, which this ad loudly proclaims this 1911 version doesn't.
