Just as with the cotton root bark, the box measures 2 1/8"
x 2 1/8" x 1" (5.4 x 5.4 x 2.54 cm).

Emmenogogue means promoting
the menstrual flow. Making the uterus contract more would theoretically
shorten the menstrual period. It might also promote abortion. Menstrual
extraction works from the other end with similar results. Ergot
is a fungus that attacks grain crops (and humans); one form causes contractions
of the uterus.
