Always menstrual pads
Rivals' pads are like pillows

Shape magazine, August 1991, U.S.A.

Menstrual pads, especially big ones, have bothered women undoubtedly for centuries.

In the 1920s, Johnson & Johnson commissioned a study that included comments about pad size.

Women have liked tampons (and cups and sponges) precisely because they're small and concealable to boot.

But in the past few decades technology has reduced pad size to almost manageable proportions. This ad reflects that.
