Ortex Gold
origami menstrual tampon (the
Netherlands, 1972) (the same as Ortex in the
Netherlands and earlier, Cameo in
Japan)
Read the discussion
on the first page.
In 1997 Tambrands gave the box to
this museum as part of an amazing gift
of 450 boxes of tampons dating to
the founding of the second Tampax
company, 1936, plus hundreds of
other items. And thanks to a Dutch
contributor for pointing out the
British connection and sending
proof, these scans.
|
The Dutch contributor writes, "The
instructions are one sheet measuring
107 mm x 83 mm; if folded, it has 4
pages."
Aha!
Those are the same pictures showing
the origami tampon for the Japanese Anshin and Cameo
tampons!
Even today women curse when they think
of sitting in the public toilet and
dropping the *@$%*&&**!
tampon into the toilet, not sticking
it into the %^@#$##**!! tube.
