belts, panties & napkin deodorant powder)
teaching etiquette to teenage girls


The long-running Are you in the know? ad series included this gem from 1954. As usual, the talented Irving Nurick drew it and unnamed copywriters invented the witty text.

Below: Like the other ads in the series this one contains snappy words and phrases:
dipper-gal, Minnie the Ha-Ha, budgeteen and with-it dialogue 50s style. And
the valuable (I guess) Kotex advice.
It would be nice someday to learn the names of the writers.
