I thank Tambrands, which donated this
box in 1997 as well as about 1000 other items from its archives to this
museum. Tampax, which Tambrands made, is now part of Procter & Gamble.

Above: the tampon right from the box measures
4.5 x 0.5" (about 11.6 x 1.3 cm). The cellophane-like package is opaque
on the other side.
Below: the plug measures 2 x 0.5"
(5.1 x 1.3 cm), the string 4.25" (11.3 cm). It appears to consist of
cotton.
Bottom: the directions are very simple.
